摘要

Discs from the mesocarp of muskmelon (cv. Explorer) fruits were floated on 0, 0.04 or 0.16 M CaCl2 for 10 days at 22℃ in the dark. Compared with the controls, chlorophyll loss in whole fruit discs was delayed by 0.04 M CaCl2 but it was more rapid with 0.16 M CaCl2. Percentage loss of plasma membrane phospholipid, protein and H+-ATPase activity was less with 0.04 M CaCl2 treatment and greater with 0.16 M CaCl2 treatment than in controls.
