This experiment was carried out on an orchard of 5 years old fig plants cv. 'Roxo de Valinhos', spaced 2.5m x 1.5m, with the objective of evaluating the effect of pruning time, hydrogen cyanamid application and irrigation on the fig tree development and early yielding of industry unripe (green) rigs. The treatments consisted of ten pruning times ranging every 15 day from April to August, with hydrogen cyanamid applications at 0% and 2% with or without irrigation. Being the irrigation done three times a week (40 L water/plant/day). A completely randomized experimental design was used. Those plants which were pruned on May's second fortnight (fall), irrigated and treated with hydrogen cyanamid, showed greater number of fruits and wider fruit diameter as well as a greater branch length, allowing an off season fruit yielding (October-spring). In the case of the early pruning (April's first fortnight till May's first fortnight), in all treatments there was a lengthening on the plant cycle. For the late pruning (July's first fortnight till August's second fortnight-winter), the irrigation with or without hydrogen cyanamid showed a greater branch length, number and fruit diameter, nevertheless the harvesting occurred during the normal crop season.
