The performance of the sweet cherry cultivars Van, Germersdorfi orias and Linda was evaluated after 5 years in a rootstock trial in Hungary on the following rootstocks: Mazzard seedling C 2493, Mahaleb cherries Korponay, Dunabogdany, Sainte Lucie 64, and the hybrid rootstocks Colt, MXM 14, MXM 97. Additionally, the same cultivars were grafted on interstems of the sour cherries Erdi botermo, Pandy meggy, Meteor korai, Debreceni botermo, and Prob (P. fruticosa) on Mahaleb seedling rootstocks. After 4years, trees on Mahaleb clone SL 64 were largest and those on MXM stocks smallest. Specific fruit yields on MXM were double those of trees on other rootstocks.
