Last month, extruders reported that July bookings were coming in slower than in priormonths, and demand in North America did end up experiencing a bit of a seasonal slowdownin July. However, with August bookings coming in very strong, extruders remain optimistic.Market contacts reported year-to-date growth rates between 5% and 7%, which has beendriven by both existing customers looking for more supply and new/existing customerslooking for domestic units to replace imports. We even heard one extruder that claimed Q22018 business was up 30% y/y. Lead times are a bit longer, and in a wide range between 8and 16 weeks, with smaller presses on the shorter side and big presses on the higher side.
