摘要

This research was aimed to explain and interpret the process and the dynamic of reconciliation by PSSI in recovering the image of Indonesian football in the reign of Joko Widodo. The focus of the research was to know the process and the dynamic of reconciliation PSSI in recovering theimage of Indonesian football. The theory used in this research was the reconciliation theory by David Bloomfield and the theory of image by Frank Jefkins. The research paradigm was constructivism with qualitative approach and the case study method. The research data was obtained by doing interviewsand observations. The result revealed that the conflict between Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and PSSI (Indonesia Football Association) was an effort to succeed the leadership in PSSI. One of the reconciliation steps was building the coexistence without violence and building thebeliefs and trusts. Generally, this reconciliation gave a positive image to PSSI which particularly regarding to the relations between PSSI and government, the formation of the national team by bringing in the excellent foreign coaches, and the revival of the football competition that hadbeen halted for a year. In the process of reconciliation, embracing ‘old people’ into the management of PSSI gave more negative image because those people still had problems.
