B W Energy will shortly restart its Tortue project off Gabon and is adding extra drilling as new data has tripled the size of the nearby Hibiscus discovery that will be a tie-back in the next phase.The company is also closing in on new asset acquisition targets while it has pretty much given up on Kudu off Namibia.BW had tied in two of the four wells on the second phase of its shallow water Tortue project in the Dussafu block before the pandemic hit.It also halted work on the next development-the Ruche and Hibiscus tie-back platform project-which had been set for an FID this year.BW has now given Borr drilling a letter of intent for the Nor-ve jack-up for three months of work at the start of 2021.This will involve completing the Tortue pair but also new drilling around the Hibiscus find where seismic reprocessing has tripled potential reserves.
