A 7000-year-old technique, known as Egyptian Paste (or Faience), could offer a potential process and material for use in the latest three-dimensional (3D) printing techniques for ceramics, according to researchers at The University West of England (UWE) Bristol in the UK. The researchers have received funding from the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to undertake a major investigation into a self-glazing 3D-printed ceramic inspired by ancient Egyptian Faience ceramic techniques.
