The 4.5 million pounds AMRC Composite Centre - a collaborationion between the University of Sheffield in the UK and Boeing hits just been officially opened. Dedicated to enabling UK manufacturers to create faster, cheaper, easier and greener products, it houses specialized equipment for composite manufacture, includes two autoclaves, a clean-room and a unique automated composite placement system that provides engineers with the capability to undertake manufacturing research for next-generalion civil aircraft, automotive and off-shore energy.
