Brian Healy, manager of ethanol export market development for the US Grains Council (USGC), believes in the future of ethanol production and use in Africa, but says the sector needs to be given better policy support."A few countries across Africa have ethanol blending policies in place and have been producing some ethanol domestically for a number of years," said Mr Healy. "Malawi probably has the longest standing ethanol policy, dating back to the 1980s.
