The UK’s biomass-fred generation and the fuel's share of the power mix fell in the third quarter despite a rise in overall UK power demand. Biomass-fred generation fell by 14pc to 4.29TWh in July- September, from 4.99TWh in the second quarter, data from UK utility Drax and Imperial College London show. But it was up by 1.2pc from 4.24TWh in July-September 2019, despite a 13.5pc fall on the year to 1.15TWh in September.
