Vietnam's seaborne wood pellet spot prices remained relatively stable this week, despite fresh demand from key South Korean buyers. The spot fob price for Vietnamese wood pellets gained 17￠/t over the week to $101.42/t amid fresh South Korean tender demand in a tightly supplied market. Korea South-East Power (Koen) issued the biggest Asian tender series yet on 2 August, collectively inviting bids for up to 1.5mn t of wood pellets for delivery to its new 125MW Yeongdong eco power plant over a two-year period. The two tenders includes an option to extend the supply contract by an additional year.
