State-owned PetroPeru has been forced to temporarily close its 100,000 b/d northern crude pipeline — the latest setback for the troubled asset. The frm attributed the decision to the national lockdown put in place to combat the efects of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has led to a collapse in oil demand. The coronavirus-related restrictions came into force on 16 March and are scheduled to last until at least 10 May. PetroPeru has not specifed how long the closure of the pipeline will last.
