For Stacie Carroll, the forest has always been a place to come back to. "I'm an outside person," Carroll says. "I was rarely inside as a kid. The forest, for me, is a womb."Carroll believes that growing up and spending much of her working life in the woods has given her an advantageous perspective when it comes to the business side of forest management and forest products. "I've seen the woods from the inside out," she says.
