In a letter to each member of the Senate Finance Committee, 97 U.S. agriculture groups have called for the swift confirmation of Agriculture Deputy Undersecretary Darci Vetter as the next chief agricultural negotiator for the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. The Jan. 10 letter praises Vetter's prior experience at USTR, where she served as director for sustainable development from 2001 to 2005, and then as director for agricultural affairs until 2007. In that role, she dealt with the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement, the letter mentions.
