Zu et al. (2016) re-analyzed our data from the Marysville, Ohio cohort exposed to Libby amphibole asbestos (LAA). Legal counsel for W.R. Grace, the company which operated the mine producing asbestos-contaminated vermiculite to which this Marysville cohort was exposed from 1957 to 1980, made a public record request for these data to the University of Cincinnati, a state entity subject to Ohio's Public Records laws. The data were provided under University of Cincinnati Institutional Review Board oversight and after acceptance of Lockey et al. (2015a,b) by a peer-reviewed journal and removal of individual participant identifiers. It should be noted that the declaration of interest by Zu et al. (2016) stated their efforts were funded by W.R. Grace.
