摘要

Two-sample scale problem is a well-known problem in the area of nonparametric inference. In this paper, a class of tests based on two-sample U-statistic, whose kernel is a function of sub-sample medians is proposed. An alternative expression in termsof ordered ranks is presented. Its large sample properties in terms of Pitman asymptotic relative efficiency (ARE) and small sample properties in terms of empirical power are discussed.
