Effects of Aluminum Doping on the Performance of Lithium Ion Battery Material Li_4Ti_5O_(12)

摘要

Rechargeable lithium batteries have been widely used in various kinds of electronic device due to their good performance. Spinel-type electrode material Li_(4-x)xAl_xTi_5O_(12) (x = 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3) was synthesized by solid state reaction. The samples were characterized by XRD and their grain sizes were examined by laser particle-size analyzer. At 0.5 C discharging rate, the first discharge specific capacities of Li_(4-x)xAl_xTi_5O_(12) (x = 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3) were found to be 136.8, 135.5, 140.4 and 155.6 mAh g~(-1) respectively. Among the series samples investigated, Li_(3.95)Al_(0.05)Ti_5O_(12) exhibits a relatively high conservation rate of capacity and an excellent cycling stability.
