As part of its diversification programme and in response to the growing demand for steel in India, the mining company National Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NMDC) is constructing a new integrated steelworks in the state of Chhattisgarh in east-central India. For this challenging project, a consortium led by Primetals Technologies is supplying the sinter plant and a complete LD (BOF) steelmaking plant on a full turnkey basis.
