Unfavourable conditions in the market for finished steel products, the fallin silicon alloy prices in major export markets and decreasing productioncost will be among the factors to depress ferrosilicon quotations inRussia.In October, Russian steel plants have been booking ferrosilicon (65% Si) at$1,680-1,770/t (VAT and delivery included), which is some $40/t less than inSeptember. Prices in the US dollar terms have fallen mostly due to the depreciationof the Russian rouble.
