After a long decline lasting since the start of 2011, prices for ferromolybdenum(65-70% Mo) to Europe have grown to $33.0-33.5/kg Mo FCA Rotterdam inNovember, up by an average of 5.8% m-o-m.In spite of the unfavourable situation in the global financial markets and in themarkets for molybdenum products, it was depletion of FeMo stocks ofEuropean trading companies and special steel makers that promoted theprice rise. Stronger buying amid a lack of available material in the markethas allowed suppliers to scale up prices. However, this factor has just a short-term effect mainly due to lower alloy consumption, so demand is expected toreduce again by the end of the year.
