Relative stability in export markets and unwillingness of domestic producersof manganese alloys to cut prices have kept quotations steady in Ukraine. In August, silicomanganese and high-carbon ferromanganese were sold toUkrainian plants at $1,750-1,885/t and $1,725-1,870/t, mostly as much as lastmonth. The given quotations include VAT and delivery.Alternative manganese alloy shipments from India, Europe and South Koreaare still more attractive price-wise than those from Ukrainian producers. Thus, SiMn and HC FeMn from India will cost Ukrainian companies $190/t less, those from Europe - $75/t and $60/t less, and in South Korea - $135/t and $90/tless respectively. Metal Expert forecasts manganese alloy quotations in majorworld markets will climb up in late Q3-early Q4 as a result of an expected $30-50/t price growth in India and demand rally in Europe and the Middle Eastwhere holidays and Ramadan will be over. This will provide suppliers with anadditional opportunity to bring up sale prices.
