Anger at the way imported tomatoes from third countries are regulated by European Union customs authorities has flared up again over the past few months. The European Tomato Growers Group has expressed concern over Europe's expected revised agreementof association with Morocco, saying a change to the system is "urgently needed" following the abandonment of earlier reform proposals in 2006 and repeated crises in European markets caused by a rise in imports with unpaid duties from non-EU countries.
