Although a 20 per cent decrease in Brazilian exports may ease pressure on the European market suppliers are worried about the rising level of apple stocks yet to be sold. Brazilian apple suppliers say they are "very concerned" about the European dealthis year as stocks continue to mount up across the continent and prices look set to spiral downwards. With total Southern Hemisphere apple shipments forecast to rise by 2.7 per cent compared with last year and the recession affecting demand, Brazilian exporters are praying they can at least cover their costs this year.
