摘要

To investigate the regenerative power of the decellularized human placental connective tissue matrix (CTM) in wound healing. Tissue engineering has made remarkable advancements over time, and it has been proposed that decellularized placenta can achieve rapid and complete healing of foot and ankle injuries. Regenerative healing involves three key steps: cell proliferation within the soft tissue scaffold, vascularization of the soft tissue in the scaffold and transition of the scaffold into a functional part in the host. Placenta's rich reserves of growth factors and extracellular matrix (ECM) allows it to be used as scaffold for tissue reconstruction.
