Mixing high viscosity products is a duty with which rotor/stator mixers are often perceived to have a weakness. With powder/liquid mixing applications the issue of high shear mixing at higher viscosity is frequently encountered, especially when dealing with gums and thickeners, starches and other "functional" ingredients. With over 60 years' experience in powder/ liquid mixing applications, Silverson identified a growing need for a new type mixer to fit this requirement; The culmination of an intensive six month research programme was the launch of a new Flashmix Powder/Liquid mixer, which made its world debut at Anuga FoodTec last month.
