STEVEN J. STOKOWSKI, PG, is the principal petrographer with TEC Services in Lawrenceville, GA. TEC pro-vides concise, timely and accurate petro-graphic analyses of aggregates, concrete, mortar, tile, stone and similar construc-tion materials. He was previously the president of Stone Products Consultants in Massachusetts and Virginia. He also served as the aggregate technologist/pe-trographic laboratory expert at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center, McLean, VA; the research scientist and manager of the research and development laboratory for Vulcan Materials in Birmingham, AL; the research engineer for Genstar Stone Products Co. in Baltimore, MD and he also worked for Martin Marietta Laboratories and the U.S. Geological Survey.
