UK construction output has suffered thesharpest fall on record and is expected toshrink by 25% during 2020, according to theConstruction Products Association (CPA).The CPA says the pause in constructionwork due to the Covid-19 pandemic is themain cause of the fall, with 60% of plannedoutput lost in April due to lockdownrestrictions and social-distancing measures.The loss in April varied both across sectorsand nations, with an estimated 83% of work inScotland lost due to more stringent lockdownmeasures, 85% of house building lost and 60%of non-residential new build lost.?
