摘要

This literature review will explore the views and experiences of midwives screening for domestic violence (DV) and discuss the background, definition, prevalence and implications of screening for DV in pregnancy. The study focuses on midwives working in an antenatal setting. It is acknowledged that there is an extensive body of information relating to DV and that publications often reflect its wider aspects which are not necessarily specific to maternity care. In an Irish context, a gap in the literature is demonstrated, therefore justifying the need for the study.
