U.S. District Court Judge Joanna Seybert issued a final order and permanent injunction barring the Town of East Hampton, N.Y., from enforcing curfews it adopted in 2015. The U.S. Supreme Court denied the town's petition for review in June. A general curfew from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and an extended curfew for especially noisy aircraft from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily were meant to provide relief from noise for area residents. The first round of litigation upheld the curfews but rejected the ordinance that imposed a one-trip-per-week limit for noisy aircraft during the summer.
