The unconformity between the basement complex of Precambrian age and the overlying sediments of the Abeokuta Formation of Upper Cretaceous age was investigated around Ijebu-Ode. The uneven nature of the contact zone was revealed by the application of Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) and Radar Imageries. The study also mapped some linear structures which have some geological significance with particular reference to groundwater and civil engineering investigations. The coexistence of different dielectric reflectivity at the crystalline-clastic rocks' interphase revealed the nature of the contact running approximately NW - SE. The sediments are south of the contact and the basement is north of the contact. The uneven contact between the Cretaceous sediments and the crystalline basement often result in the failure of water boreholes and engineering projects, where ambiguity in defining rock boundaries has caused many construction failures in the past can now be avoided.
