ANRPC has indicated that there could be a downward revision of NR supply in 2017 in view of the fall in NR prices from the last week of May 2017. In response to the further fall in prices, a section of farmers is expected to reduce frequency of harvesting and delay reopening tapping on expiry of the wintering off-season.

7. Commodity prices have risen sharply since 2006. This may benefit developing countries specialized on primary exports, but poverty may increase. Uruguay is a net exporter of primary products and a net importer of oil.
