The usage of Block Rubber,also called Technically Specified Rubber(TSR),in India has risen to almost 40% of total consumption of natural rubber,in line with the international trends,say reports.This promises greater opportunities ahead for the domestic TSR processing sector.According to the trade data,the present,the domestic production of TSR is only 1,15,000 MT/year against an installed capacity of 3,00,000 MT/year,with an industry capacity utilization of only 35%.This is against a total domestic consumption of almost 5,00,000 MT in this fiscal,which was met by imports.TSR(Block Rubber) is the most sought-after material for the rubber products manufacturing industry due to its various advantages.Unlike sheet rubber,TSR has consistency of quality as it is made in large approved factories with ISO Quality Management Systems.What is more,product manufacturing costs using TSR are much less compared to sheets.
