The correct identification of other seeds in a sample is important, not only in regard to seed trade requirements, but also to national regulations. The aim of the workshop is to provide knowledge about seed identification for a range of weed species,at both the theoretical and practical level. An introduction will be given in: seed morphology in general and the meaning of seed characteristics for systematic classification, thus allowing the step-by-step identification of family, genus and species.The participants will be able to independently identify unknown seeds in a systematic way.
