摘要

The Republic of Ireland(ROI) YPN is one of the Energy Institute's newest YPNs and covers all members in the Republic of Ireland.We were founded with the primary aim of providing a link between our young professionals and industry to network and discuss emerging technologies and trends through our lecture series.As Ireland transitions from a fossil fuel-based energy society to a renewable and gas-supported energy system,where the Irish government has set out a target of 70% renewable electricity on the grid,the ROI YPN aims to be at the forefront of this change and provide up-to-date and relevant evening lectures and events to allow knowledge sharing and discussion.With the large area covered by the ROI YPN,the committee is looking at how to better engage our community located outside of the major population centres.Here we are looking at University collaborations,where we are hoping to increase our size and build on relationships with Energy Institute-affiliated academic courses such as those at the Technical University of Dublin,Trinity College Dublin,Waterford Institute of Technology and Cork Institute of Technology.
