Isoscalar E0, E1, and E2 strength in Fe-54 and Zn-64,Zn-68

摘要

The giant resonance region from 10 MeV < E-x < 62 MeV in Fe-54, Zn-64, and Zn-68 has been studied with inelastic scattering of 240-MeV alpha particles at small angles, including 0 degrees. Between 70 and 105% of the expected isoscalar E0 strength has been identified below E-x = 40 MeV for each of the nuclei. Between 71 and 108% of the E1 strength has been identified while 60% of E2 strength in Fe-54 and Zn-68 and 120% of the strength in Zn-64 have been identified. The strength distributions for Fe-54 and Zn-64,Zn-68 are compared with the predictions from HF-RPA calculations with the KDE0v1 Skyrme interaction.
