I have compared the proton closed-shell (Z = 50) nucleus Sn-116 with its neighbor Cd-114, which has Z = 48. In both energies and E2 strengths, both large similarities and major differences are pointed out. I have estimated mixing of the lowest 0(+) and 2(+) states with the sum of second and third states of each J(pi). Mixing is much larger in Cd-114 than in Sn-116.
