Background: The formation and decay of the Th-220* compound nucleus (CN) formed via some entrance channels (O-16 + Pb-204, Ar-40 + Hf-180, Ca-48 + Yb-172, Se-82 + Ba-138) at near barrier energies has been studied within the dynamical cluster-decay model (DCM) [Hemdeep et al., Phys. Rev. C 95, 014609 (2017)], for quadrupole deformations (beta(2i)) and "optimum" orientations (theta(opt)) of the two nuclei or decay fragments lying in the same plane (coplanar nuclei, Phi = 0 degrees).
