Aeromycological studies of warehouse at Ahmednagar.

摘要

A study of airborne microorganisms in an indoor atmosphere was conducted from 1 October 1989 to 30 September 1990 in a food grains godown at Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, India. A total of 78 airborne microorganisms were collected, of which 73 of fungal origin were identified up to the generic level and the other 5 types were plant parts, hyphal fragments, insect parts, pollen grains and unidentified spore types. Deuteromycotina contributed the highest percentage to the total air spores followed by Ascomycotina, Zygomycotina, other types, Basidiomycotina and Myxomycotina. The ambient air inside the warehouse was rich with biopollutants throughout the experimental period, which was highest in August. Climatic conditions such as low temperature, high humidity, availability of suitable substrate inside and outside the godown had a profound effect on spore concentration inside the warehouse. Comparative data on the total concentration and percentage contribution of each spore type to the total air spores in the godown from 1 October 1989 to 30 September 1990 are tabulated.
