The US industry association, CropLife America (CLA), has expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court's decision not to review a lower court's ruling requiring pesticide users to obtain permits under the Clean Water Act (CWA). The group was dismayed that the government did not join it and other petitioners in seeking to overturn the decision of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit that resulted in pesticide applications over or near water requiring National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits (Agrow No 585, p 15).
