In a placebo-controlled trial in 307 children and adolescents receiving cancer chemotherapy, adding aprepitant to a setron had modest antiemetic efficacy, as was observed in adults. Aprepitant is subject to multiple drug interactions, even after its withdrawal. In practice, aprepitant is a useful option for some patients, especially those receiving certain injectable cytotoxic drugs, which appear to carry a lower risk of interactions. The oral suspension is impractical and represents a source of dosing errors.
