The Tokyo-based pesticide manufacturer, SDS Biotech, was listed on the Japanese Jasdaq Securities Exchange on December 8th 2008. The initial public offering is part of SDS Biotech's growth strategy, and has been planned since the management buy-out from Showa Denko in 2005 (Agrow No 469, p 1), says Kenichi Komatsubara, general manager of corporate strategy planning. The company plans to strengthen its line-up of proprietary active ingredients as well as improving and expanding its domestic and overseas sales by reinforcing R&D activities.
