Brazil has joined the OECD's chemical testing agreement that allows countries to share work on the assessment of chemicals, including new pesticide active ingredients. The OECD system for the mutual acceptance of data (MAD) in the assessment of chemicals has been in operation among member states since the 1980s. It ensures that results of non-clinical safety tests done on chemicals are accepted in participating countries.
