The aesthetics of morbidity: State-of-the-art lighting technology from Luce&Light for the museum complex in Gardone Riviera
Historic walls work well together with state-of-the-art lighting technology. Thanks to the miniaturisation of the light source, the luminaires are practically invisible - great effects achieved using small tools. The Vittoriale degli italiani (English: The shrine of Italian victories) is a hillside estate and museum complex in the Italian town of Gardone Riviera overlooking Lake Garda. It is the former residence of the Italian writer Gabriele d'Annunzio (1863-1938), which he had designed by Architect Giancarlo Maroni in 1921. Today the estate comprises nine hectares and besides the buildings consists of an amphitheatre, gardens, parks, squares and water features, which are now part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani. The gardens are known to receive around 300,000 visitors every year.
