Chinese agrochemical company Nanjing Redsun saw its pesticide sales soar in the first half of 2012, nearly trebling to Yuan 1,380.3 million ($218.2 million at the current rate). Redsun's largest product category in terms of revenues is chemical fertilisers, which accounted for 55.1% of total sales, with pesticides making up 43.3% of the total during the first six months. In contrast, during the same period last year, pesticides accounted for just 19.8% of the company's sales. Nanjing Redsun sees the majority of its revenues come from its home province of Jiangsu, in which some Yuan 2,416.8 million ($382.1 million) of sales were realised in the first half.
