Improved sales in all product categories boosted Syngenta's crop protection revenues by 7.2% to $2,861 million in the first quarter of 2012. Sales were up by 9% at constant exchange rates (CER). Seed and trait sales grew by 10.6% (13% at CER) to $1,225 million. "After a strong year in 2011, sales momentum continued in the first quarter, with an excellent start to the season in both Europe and North America," says Syngenta chief executive officer Mike Mack.
