The Chinese market for the fungicide, difenoconazole, is expected to grow in coming years as Chinese companies step up production of the active ingredient, reports the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). Difenoconazole production in the first six months of 2012 amounted to 1,065.3 tonnes, while some 739.4 tonnes of the ai was exported.Annual global sales for the ai amounted to $200 million last year. Prices have been steadily rising, from Yuan 192,000/ tonne ($30,390/tonne at the current rate) in late 2010 to Yuan 210,000/tonne ($33,240/tonne) at present. Production output and demand within China are both seeing "relatively rapid growth", the CCPIA adds.
