The Brazilian agrochemical market jumped by 36% in Brazilian currency terms to R$l 1,485 million (US$5,650 million at the current rate) for the first nine months of 2012 compared with the same period the previous year. However, exchange rate movements accounted for 26 of those percentage points. Sales in US dollars amounted to US$8,488 million in 2011 (Agrow No 638, p 21). The figures are cited by the generic agrochemical industry association, the Aenda, from the industry associations, the Sindag and the Andef.
