More than half of the world's leading agrochemieal companies recorded double-digit sales increases in dollar terms in 2007.This represents a marked turnaround in fortunes for the industry from the previous year,when only United Phosphorus achieved this feat through a series of acquisitions(Agrow No 526,p 1).All of the six leading multinationals recorded sales growth in 2007,with the top four posting double-digit gains in dollar terms(Agrow No 539,p 3).Strong global demand for agrochemicals ensured real industry gains,but the weakness of the US dollar against other major currencies accentuated the growth.
