The European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) has warned that "unwarranted blanket prohibitions" of pesticides could result from a compromise reached between EU parliamentary and member state representatives on proposed changes to EU agrochemical registrations. The lack of scientific basis has already led to some members of the European Parliament's Environment Committee making "overblown claims" about the likely impact of the legislation, the ECPA contends.
