Syngenta has launched a combination insecticide based on DuPont's chlorantranillprole in Argentina, Voliam Targo (chlorantraniliprole 4.5 g/litre + abamectin 1.5 g/litrej is a suspension concentrate for use on apples and pears against codling moths (Cydia pomonella) and two-spotted spider mites (Tetranychus urticae), and on pears against pear psyllids (Psylla pyricola). It has high residual activity, allowing a 21-day application interval. Syngenta has a global licence from DuPont to use the active ingredient in combination products (Agrow No 491, p1).
